Hi Everyone! My name is Jake Sepich and I am an Associate Management Consultant at Lafayette Group, Inc. I was a member of Out in National Security's 2023 New Voices List, have published several articles on different issues surrounding cybersecurity, and am currently working on improving my home lab.
In May 2023, I graduated from American University's School of International Service with a Master's in International Relations concentrating on Cybersecurity. On top of being a student, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Service, a Research Fellow at the Center for Security, Innovation, and New Technology, and a member of American University's 2023 Cyber 9/12 team EternalRedWhiteandBlue.
I am from Chicago, Illinois and did my undergrad at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I received my degree in Political Science with a certificate in Arms Control, Domestic, and International Security. During this time, I worked on a variety of political campaigns and interned with several Congressional offices.
While in Washington, I have also worked with fp21. I began as a Research Assistant before moving to a Program Manager role. In this position, I led a grant project that fp21 received from Schmidt Futures to help bring a group of leaders from tech companies to help the federal government in either advisory or full-time employment roles.
